Microvision have released an upgrade to the firmware for this unit to version 2.65, a number of new features have been added among other changes. The new data prefix and postfix feature has now allowed the ROV MS2200 to be included among those models compatible with the Dataman Bar-Key utility.

Dataman have released their Bar-Key utility version 3.16 Beta, this utility will allow bar code scanners like the Cipher 1166/1266, the NEW Cipher 1660 and the Microvision ROV MS2200 to be used for fundamental stock taking including recording of stock quantities. Version 3.16 now allows users to record the location as well as the asset when undertaking asset collections, when using this with the NEXA CM-500M and the CM-500's time stamp feature full audits are possible.
